Associations between psychosocial factors and work ability in a Tunisian electricity and gas company

Introduction Work ability can be influenced by numerous factors, particularly psychosocial ones. These latter individual factors but also at the workplace. Objectives This study aimed to explore determinants of work among workers in a Tunisian electricity and gas company. Methods We conducted cross-sectional survey 83 male used self-administered questionnaire that included socio-demographic profile, assessment through Job content (JCQ) General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12), Ability Index (WAI) questionnaire. Data were analysed using SPSS software. student’s test compare means between two groups. Results The mean WAI score studied company was 8.96 (SD=1.37). At time survey, one person out 3 participants suffered from psychological distress (37.3% with GHQ-12 ≥ 3). Workers had weaker compared those not (p=0.033). found having low social support passive jobs associated (p=0.003 p=0.005 respectively). Conclusions Most personal occupational significant associations Thus, enhancing environment workplace promote such occupations. Disclosure Interest None Declared
